Therapy for Children

"Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded."
– Jess Lair

At Rise, we’re all about helping little ones thrive—starting as early as age 3! Our friendly therapy services support kids as they navigate challenges at home and school, from everyday behavioral ups and downs to tougher issues like trauma, anxiety, grief, or parental divorce. We also know that the journey to healing is a team effort, which is why we welcome parents and caregivers to join in. Together, we explore practical strategies that keep the progress going at home. Let’s work together to create a brighter, more balanced future for your child and family.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a creative and engaging approach that uses the natural language of play to help children express their thoughts and feelings. Traditional talk therapy, which relies heavily on verbal communication, often isn’t the best fit for kids because children naturally communicate through play, symbolism, and non-verbal cues. That’s why play therapy creates a safe, welcoming space where children can explore emotions, resolve conflicts, and build self-confidence—all while having fun.

Through games, art, storytelling, and imaginative play, our therapists guide children in understanding their experiences and learning new coping skills. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety, trauma, grief, or simply the everyday ups and downs of growing up, play therapy offers a gentle, non-verbal way to heal and grow. It’s more than just play—it’s a dynamic tool that nurtures emotional well-being and encourages positive development.
