ABA is considered an evidence-based best practice treatment by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association. ABA therapy involves treatment for changing behavior. Maladaptive or undesirable behavior can be decreased through ABA techniques. Additionally, positive or desirable behavior can be increased through positive reinforcement, a central strategy of ABA. This treatment can focus on improving specific behaviors, such as social skills, communication, reading, and academics as well as adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality, and job competence. What do treatment sessions look like?
Therapy sessions will differ according to goals for treatment. Typically sessions are interactive and 1:1 with client to therapist ratio. Services can occur in the school setting or home setting.
How do I get started?
Contact us via email or phone. We will get you or your child scheduled for an assessment. An assessment includes a client or caregiver interview followed by an observation across settings.
